2018 04 14 • AHRC M3C Doctoral Studentship Award
I am proud and excited to share with you all that I have been awarded a full 3-year studentship to sudy for a PhD in Composition at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire in the UK!
The AHRC Midlands3Cities Doctoral Award is provided by the UK’s Arts and Humanities Research Council and will accompany me back to university in autumn 2018.
The three-year practice-based research degree will be supervised by Sean Clancy and Scott Wilson (University of Birmingham) and will focus on the application of contemporary acoustic, electro-acoustic and electronic compositional techniques and processes to Arabic music, and apply the fundamentals of Arabic music to contemporary compositional processes and techniques for western classical instruments.
